URBAN LEGENDS

Urban legends go a long way and all the stories are spine chilling. From the devil's crossroads to the house that bleeds, bloody Mary, Suicide mouse, the real house of 1000 corpses and much more has been the bane of spine-chilling myths and stories till this very day. Many stories of sightings and experiences have been recorded about all these creepy and horrifying urban legends. Is it just an urban legend or just something else which we don't know?

The Devil's crossroads. The Devil's crossroads or the crossroads of Clarksdale has been an urban legend for many years and has chills sending down the spine of many people who have heard of the stories of the crossroads. The most well-known story amongst all the others is the story of Robert Johnson an old blues player who went to the crossroads to meet the devil himself to sell his soul, so he can be a better guitar player.

The urban legend of the crossroads of Clarksdale goes as such if there's something you wanted badly you would go to the extend to get it. That's where to some people especially musicians, the crossroads of Clarksdale come in to play. You would meet the devil at the crossroads at a specific time which is between 12 pm and 3 am and a gentle tap on your shoulder three times would signify the devil himself is there behind you ready to take your soul in exchange for what you want dearly and as the story goes you don't dare to turn and look around to the devil or else.

This was exactly what happened to Robert Johnson. Originally by some people's stories, he was terrible at playing the guitar and many people did not like him. He was even dismissed by his fellow musicians, but he returned after his short trip to Clarksdale. He was surprisingly amazing with his guitar after that being the legend of the blues we know of today, everyone knows practice makes perfect, but no one can get that good overnight, can they? especially with the guitar. So, what happened here? Are we missing something? Roberts story goes as such, he went to the crossroads of Clarksdale and waited for the devil between 12 pm and 3 am while playing his guitar until he felt a stranger tap him on the shoulder 3 times. He passed his guitar without looking back over his right shoulder and the strange individual or the devil would take the guitar and begin tuning it before passing it back to Robert. Robert accepted and received the newly tuned guitar in exchange for his soul making him the legend he is today.

Robert isn't the only one who has traveled to the crossroads, in fact, many other guitarists and musicians have traveled there as well to get better at what they dearly love.

The house that bleeds. In many horror stories the basic stereotype of a shadow racing past, or doors slamming on its own, figures on mirrors which vanish when you look back and much more but the urban legend of the house that bleeds is something straight out of a horror movie and so, that is what you think. This urban legend is a true story which involved an old couple living in Atlanta, Georgia in 1987. The couple, William Winston aged 79 and Minnie Clyde Winston aged 77 experienced a bizarre phenomenon at their own home.

The couple had been married for 44 years and had lived at that house for half that time and had never had an experience like that before. This story goes as such, right before midnight Minnie Winston stepped out of her shower, to her surprise she discovers blood covering the entire bathroom floor. From what the story tells, she claimed that the blood was physically sipping up from the floor. Mrs. Winston then alerted her husband about this weird and horrifying phenomenon. There were blood stains on the lower walls, floors, hallways, under the television and even the kitchen. Blood was also sipping through a narrow crawl space was even neither one of the couples could reach at their respective ages. The Winston's couples story of the house that bleed stands out the most because it was the only story which was documented, and authorities even started an investigation to find out where the blood was coming from and why it happened after all that years the old couple were living there.

Many people suspected that the couple had hidden a body in the house or had cut themselves but did not realize it but with the amount of blood flowing through the house, these suspicions were quickly shot down. Even a homicide detective, Steve Cartwright claims he had seen nothing like this before in his life. The Winston's couple had no pets and had absolutely nothing wrong with the house. So, where was all this blood coming from? This is where the story gets even creepier. William at that time was on a dialysis machine, so? Could this explain where the blood is coming from? Authorities took samples of the blood from the house and blood samples from William and Minnie for testing and days after it was confirmed that the blood from the house is, in fact, human blood but did not belong to the couple who were living in that house as they share the same blood type A and the blood type from the house was O. Authorities confirm that there was no criminal act or staged act for this bizarre phenomenon. William and Minnie Winston had never experienced something like this since that day and had left them, the authorities and the whole city of Atlanta baffled at this phenomenon. Plus, the case has not been solved till this day and that is why this urban legend stays strong in the books.
There are much more spine-chilling and horrifying urban legends out there. Some completely unexplainable and some just hoax made up and it's up to you regardless your religion to believe it or not. Most but not all these urban legends are fake and some of them had lived long enough to tell their tales of some of these urban legends.
